RAWALPINDI: Two young brothers were killed in police firing near Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi late on Saturday night.

According to details, two brothers identified as Zeshan and Shakeel were on their way when police signaled them to stop at Naka (checkpoint). On defying the orders, police opened fire at them, resulting one of them died instantly while other brother succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

Family sources said Zeshan and Shakeel were returning home from the shop when the incident occurred.

The family members of the deceased brothers staged protest demonstration outside the hospital and demanded justice. They also raised against police.

Later, RPO Rawalpindi Malik Israr and other high ups reached the hospital and assured the heirs of the boys for justice.

The officials said two police personnel, involved in the firing, have been arrested while raids were being conducted to arrest the two others.
