Malik terms Qadri march as anti-democratic
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has termed Tahirul Qadri’s long-march as anti-democratic and anti-constitutional, Geo News reported Monday.

Speaking to media after taking an aerial view of the Jinnah Avenue where the marchers have gathered, he reiterated that lives of the participants of the long-march were in danger. However, they could stay in Islamabad as long as they wanted.

He expressed the hope that Qadri would present his demands peacefully and would stage a sit-in at the venue already agreed upon.

The minister said that no deadline had been given about the sit-in, adding that arrangements have been finalized to cope with any situation.

He said that Tahirul Qadri would be provided special security and two Superintended of Police had been deputed for the purpose.

Malik also made a mockery of the long-march and said he hoped acrobats and monkeys would also come to entertain the participants. He warned that he would not keep silence if Qadri launched personnel attacks.
