ISLAMABAD: The farmhouse of former president, General (retd) Pervez Musharraf in Chak Shahzad has been declared sub-jail. A notification in this regard has been issued by Chief Commissioner Islamabad.

The former president will be shifted to his farmhouse where he will remain during his 14 day judicial remand. An Assistant Superintendent Jails will be deployed at the farmhouse and all rules of a jail would be applicable.

The former president will not be allowed to hold any meeting without prior approval from the Chief Commissioner Islamabad.

Meanwhile, a contingent of the Rangers has also been deployed to Musharraf’s farmhouse.

Earlier, Islamabad administration returned SSP Police Islamabad’s request to declare the farmhouse a sub-jail after raising objections over it.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday sent former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on judicial remand till May 4 and ordered police to present him in the next hearing, Geo News reported.

He was presented in the in-charge judge ATC Kausar Abbas Zaidi’s court.
During Saturday’s brief hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer argued that the accused was presented in the court without the handcuffs which is a malafide action.
