Child in Karachi dies as kite string slits his throat

KARACHI: A student of KG-I and resident of Korangi was killed on Sunday when his throat was slit by a string of a kite being flown from an unidentified location.

According to rescue officials, Alyan was riding a motorbike with his father near Sunday Bazaar on Korangi No 3 when his neck was slit by a kite string. He was being taken to a nearby hospital, when he succumbed to his injuries.

The father of the victim while speaking to the media demanded that the government bans kite flying and ensures that the ban is implemented. He further demanded action against those responsible for his son’s death.

In 2017, the Punjab government had banned kite flying after multiple deaths caused by strings.
