Peshawar admin seals godowns stuffed with stolen UN supplies

PESHAWAR: The city administration on Tuesday sealed 15 godowns after discovering from there food supplies stolen from the storage houses of United Nations.

These supplies were meant for distribution among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

According to details, the officials raided the Chamkani area and sealed the godowns.

Talking to newsmen, Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Irshad said flour, rice, pulses and other edibles were recovered from the godowns.

"The food items were repackaged and then sold in the open market," Irshad said.

Three people were also arrested during the raids.
