Eliminated Black Water in Pakistan, claims Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday said terrorists are on the run as a result of effective counter-terrorism steps being taken by the government.

Speaking from the floor of National Assembly, the Interior Minister said everyone talks against terrorists but he is the one who took practical steps for the eradication of the menace.

Chaudhry Nisar set a new example today by voluntarily coming forward and presenting details of his ministry’s performance over the past two-and-a-half years.

He also invited other ministers to come forward and present themselves for accountability.

He compared his ministry’s performance with that of former interior minister Rehman Malik’s. He also pointed out the mistakes committed in the past and claimed eliminating the Black Water from the country.

Chaudhry Nisar allowed three more months for making functional National Intelligence Directorate (NID), whose formation was announced last year as part of the National Action Plan (NAP).

He said a number of terror plans were foiled as a result of over 2500 items of intelligence shared.

Nisar said the frequency of terrorist acts has witnessed a major decline, as there used to be bomb blasts in days but now such incidents take place in months.
