DHAKA: India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets achieving the target in 15.3 overs. After losing the toss to MS Dhoni and having to bat first, Pakistan were all out for 83 runs in 17.3 overs giving India an 84 run target to win the Asia Cup fixture being played in Dhaka.
The match which was being dubbed as the biggest match of the Asia Cup series because Pakistan and India were coming face to face at the Shere Bangla National Stadium proved to trample on Pakistani fan's spirits as wickets began to tumble right from the start.
With only an 84 run target, disappointed fans vacated the multiple screenings organized across the country. Fans speaking to Geo News expressed their disappointment.
Shahid Afridi, skipper for the Pakistan team managed to score only two runs before he was run out; earlier he expressed confidence in the Pakistani batting line up and even after losing the toss expressed he had been looking to bat first had he won the toss.
The batting line up fell like pins with only Sarfaraz Ahmed and Khurram Manzoor managing to score in double figures, 25 and 10 respectively.
Head to Head, Pakistan and India have faced off in six T20 fixtures, India won four while Pakistan was victorious in one and tied one match.
