Ahmed Shahzad not Butt to be included in T20 squad: Shahryar Khan

Chairman PCB Shahryar Khan has said that Ahmed Shahzad will be included in the T20 Squad instead of Salman Butt.

Rumours were strife that Butt, who has served a five-year ban from international cricket following a spot fixing case, will make a comeback in the T20 squad after reports surfaced that he had met chief selector Haroon Rashid at his residence on Sunday.

Haroon Rashid also reportedly contacted fellow selectors and the team management over Butt’s return to the side.

Head-coach Waqar Younis is putting his weight behind Butt to captain the side following a dismal performance in Asia Cup T20 with World T20 just around the corner.

T20 skipper Shahid Afridi, who is facing severe criticism for the team’s current downfall, has however strongly dismissed the idea of playing Salman Butt. “I will not play if Salman is included in the team,” he said.
