Nusrat dismisses ‘rumours’ about Altaf Hussain’s poor health

LONDON: Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM,) Nadeem Nusrat on Wednesday strongly denied ‘the rumours being spread about the health of the party chief Altaf Hussain’ and termed them as ‘baseless and utter lie’.

In a statement issued today, the convener of MQM’s London Rabita Committee stated that Hussain was completely fine and attending to his day-to-day personal and organisational affairs as usual.

“Mr Hussain is constantly in touch with the Co-ordination Committee, different wings and office-bearers of the party,” he added.

Nusrat said that the rumours were being deliberately spread in order to create confusion and despondency among sympathisers and workers of MQM.

“These rumours are being spread by the lackeys of the establishment who have hatched the conspiracy to finish the MQM or weaken it.”

The MQM leader appealed to the party workers and sympathisers to not give heed to these rumours and maintain unity. All vicious conspiracies against the MQM would fail as had happened in the past, he added.
