KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) provincial lawmaker Mohammad Dilawar became the latest recruit in Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) on Wednesday.
Dilawar was a member of Sindh’s provincial assembly from PS-110 Ranchore Line constituency.
Earlier today, MQM Punjab Vice President Abdul Karim, too, jumped on the PSP bandwagon.
The party leader made the announcement upon PSP leaders Raza Haroon and Iftikhar Randhawa’s visit to Gujranwala.
Talking to reporters, Abdul Karim said he doesn’t want to remain affiliated with a party for having alleged links with Indian intelligence agency RAW.
PSP leader Raza Haroon said they received a warm welcome in Gujranwala, adding that the party’s foundation in Punjab will be from the city.
“This is not MQM…this is PSP that will work for the entire Pakistan,” Haroon said.
Since the PSP burst onto Karachi’s political scene earlier this year, important workers and leaders of MQM who have switched over to Kamal and Anees Qaim Khani’s side include Anis Advocate, Raza Haroon, MPA Dr Sagheer Ahmed, MPA Iftikhar Alam, Waseem Aftab, ex-senator Mohammad Ali Brohi, and MPA Bilquis Mukhtar.
