Moonis Elahi's name not in Panama papers, claims Pervez Elahi

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League Q (PML-Q) Punjab President Pervez Elahi on Tuesday claimed that the Panama Papers did not include the name of his son Moonis Elahi.

Elahi alleged that the government and its media cell had incorporated his son's name in news reports on the Panama leaks.

“The amount of effort that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is undertaking to drag others people’s names (into this scandal) should be directed toward removing his own,” opined Elahi.

Pervez Elahi said that no company belonging to Moonis Elahi exists in the Panama papers. He also claimed that the government is using tactics to include the name of opposition leaders in the scandal.

On a separate note, the PML-Q leader congratulated former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani upon the news of his son’s recovery from Afghanistan today, after he was kidnapped from Multan three years ago.
