Maldives defence minister calls on COAS

RAWALPINDI: Maldives Defence Minister, Mr Adam Shareef Umar called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif on Tueday at the Army GHQ.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) branch of the Pakistan Army, issues of mutual interest including regional security and defence cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

The Maldives Defence Minister appreciated the successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb and paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Pakistani security forces.

Upon his arrival the Defence Minister laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada (martyrs memorial) and was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Army.
