Withdrawal of judges’ restoration order ‘impossible’: Tariq Mehmood

ISLAMABAD: Justice (rtd.) Tariq Mehmood has said according to the law operating in Pakistan, the situation suggests that judges were never deposed from their posts, Geo News reported.

Talking to Geo News after circulation of news media reports regarding withdrawal of Executive Order of judges’ restoration, Tariq Mehmood seemed curious at a situation, which led to the collection of all judges in Supreme Court (SC). “There must be some other important issue which has prompted all 17 judges of SC to unit at this time”, he worried.

“The notification of restoration of deposed judges, which was passed through an Executive Order, cannot be withdrawn at all”, he pointed out.

A baseless news has triggered chaos among nation, he said, calling for scrutiny of elements behind the news.
