MQM leaders issue Pakistan Zindabad messages

KARACHI: Leaders of the Muttahaida Qaumi Movement (MQM) issued Pakistan Zindabad messages in the aftermath of party workers resorting to violence in the city on Monday.

Violent protests targeting media houses were triggered after MQM chief Altaf Hussain told party workers to surround the offices of Geo News, Samaa and ARY.

Following the protests, five senior leaders of the MQM were taken into custody and the party’s head office Nine Zero along with four party offices were sealed in Karachi.

Leaders who issued statements include Babar Ghuari, Faisal Sabzawari, Rashid Godil and Irum Azeem who said she was resigning from her MQM membership as well as the Sindh provincial assembly.

Faisal Sabzwari tweeted: “May we see a just #Pakistan for everyone, as that's what Motherland means #PakistanZindabad”

Amir Liaqat tweeted: “Pakistan will remain zindabad”

Rashid Godil tweeted: “#LovePakistan #ServePakistan Pakistan zindabad”

Babar Ghauri tweeted: “Pakistan Zindabad”
