MQM leaders detained in Karachi, more offices sealed

KARACHI: Police on Thursday detained MQM leader Shiraz Waheed in connection with a case registered against him in the SITE police station while Rangers detained MNA Asif Hasnain.

SSP Malir, Rao Anwar told Geo News that Muttahida Qaumi Movemnet MPA Shiraz Waheed was detained and was being interrogated. He added that a case had been registered against him at the SITE police station which included sections from the anti-terrorism act.

Meanwhile, MQM MNA Asif Hasnain was detained by Rangers from the airport as he was trying to catch a flight to Islamabad.

Crackdown against MQM offices continues with more offices being sealed by law enforcement agencies.
