Tehsildar, seven Levies men killed in Gwadar attack

GWADAR: A tehsildar and seven Levies men were killed in terrorists attack in Gwadar near the Pakistan-Iran border on Thursday, officials said.

Unknown terrorists attacked a Levies vehicle at a checkpost in Kuldan area of tehsil Jiwani, Gwadar. The attack left tehsildar Jiwani Naeem Guchki and seven Levies men dead, said Commissioner Makran Bashir Bangalzai.

Four other personnel were wounded, who were shifted to Civil Hospital Gwadar.

The incident triggered a search operation by Levies and Frontier Corps (FC) in the vicinity.

CM Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri while summoning a report into the incident from Makran commissioner ordered immediate arrest of perpetrators.

Balachistan has been plagued by a separatist insurgency and militant violence, however, the recent measures by security forces have curtailed the number of terrorist attacks in the province.

The attacks still take place, yet, of low intensity.

On August 8, however, a major suicide attack on Civil Hospital Quetta plunged the nation in shock and grief after it left over 70 people dead.

The explosion took place when Balochistan Bar Association President Bilal Kasi's body was being brought to the emergency department.

He was gunned down at Mano Jan Road earlier in the day.
