KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Mustafa Kamal on Saturday lambasted the government over its lack of action against Muttahida Qaumi Movement founder days after Altaf Hussain's controversial anti-Pakistan tirade earlier this week.

Speaking at a press conference here today, Kamal asked the government what action had been taken against Hussain in the five days since the provocative speech led to violent protests and attacks on media offices in the city.

Rangers personnel in Karachi took swift action against the MQM following the MQM founder's speech on Monday, briefly detaining several of its workers and sealing several of its offices, including the MQM's main Nine-Zero headquarters.

Law enforcers have so far also demolished several of the party's offices since then.

Speaking at the press conference today, Kamal stressed that it was not the MQM's offices or posters of its founder that had defamed the country but the MQM founder against whom, he said, no action had yet been taken.
