Waseem raises ‘Long live Muttahida, Long live Bhutto, Long live Imran Khan’ slogan

KARACHI: The city’s new mayor, Waseem Akhtar was sworn in on Tuesday and began his address at the ceremony with ‘Long live Muttahida, Long Live Bhutto, Long live Imran Khan.’

As Akhtar made his way to the podium, slogans could be heard. The new mayor to silence people in the crowd raised this slogan.

“In my opinion I should the raise slogan myself. Long live Muttahida, Long live Bhutto, Long live Imran Khan. So everyone can be at peace,” Akhtar said.

Waseem Akhtar in his address at the ceremony said he was thankful to parties who had participated in the election. He also thanked the provincial and federal government.

The city’s mayor said he would solve the problems of Karachi and a united effort would be required for this. He added that the office of mayor is not political.
