KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan Rabitta Committee held prolonged consultation on the possible amendment to the party's constitution, while Farooq Sattar said MQM lawmakers will present a resolution against the party's founder in the National Assembly (NA) today.

Following a six hour long meeting in which issues facing the party were discussed, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said the MQM will present a resolution against the party's founder in NA, over his anti-Pakistan tirade.

The MQM, in a release issued after the meeting, demanded authorities to release its women activists arrested in Karachi in the wake of August 22 violence. It also expressed concerns over security deployment at the party's temporary headquarters in Karachi.

The Rabitta Committee decided to fully participate in by-polls for Sindh Assembly constituency PS-127 Karachi. The seat had fallen vacant after the defection of Ashfaq Mangi to Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP).

The by-polls in PS-127 Karachi have been scheduled on September 8, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
