GUJRANWALA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Sunday also hinted at not participating in the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) Raiwind March.
Former prime minister and PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf talked to Geo News in Gujranwala and said that democracy is not about surrounding a political leader’s home and creating chaos.
He said that in Pakistan the criteria for justice for different for Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz and PPP.
He said that protest is PPP’s right, and when the party protests the politicians would know as PPP is the Opposition.
It seems that no opposition party is likely to join hands with PTI Chairman Imran Khan or even show solidarity with him for his “Raiwind March” because almost every political force is opposed to this kind of protest near Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s private residence in Lahore.
PPP leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan, who is mostly keen for cooperation with the PTI and other opposition parties against the government, was also averse to protest before the prime minister’s residence.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri had also announced that his party will not take part in the ‘Raiwind March’ stating that this was an internal decision.
