KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Thursday discussed the sale of alcohol and narcotics in the province.

During the session PML-F MPA Nusrat Seher Abbasi, PTI MPA Khurram Sher Zaman and MQM MNA Jamal Ahmed asked the Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Chawala about sale of narcotics and alcohol.

The functional league leader got into an argument with the minister after not receiving the answers she was looking for. “When a question is asked there should be an immediate response,” Nusrat Seher Abbasi said.

PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman said narcotics were being sold in Clifton, Karachi. “You will find narcotics openly in Clifton Block 1 and Shiri Jinnah Colony,” he said.

Even Sindh Assembly speaker Aga Siraj Durrani joined the debate and asked why there was so much interest in the sale of narcotics.

Earlier, Khurram Sher Zaman also submitted a privilege motion in the assembly regarding the sale of alcohol.
