The Indian military has started transporting heavy artillery to forward positions in several areas close to the Line of Control in Occupied Kashmir, British media reported on Thursday, the latest evidence of the Modi government's eagerness to mount war against Pakistan.
According to a report by BBC Urdu, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent most of his time on Thursday in the military operation room from where he was monitoring and reviewing the movement of troops along the Line of Control in Occupied Kashmir.
BBC Urdu confirmed receiving reports form senior Indian military officials of increased movement of troops along the LoC, as well the movement of heavy artillery including Bofors guns to several positions.
The development comes after Islamabad said the Pakistani army was ready to protect the country and, along with the nation, prepared to face any challenges.
During the weekly news briefing, Foreign Office spokesman Nafeez Zakaria stressed that Pakistan was a peace-loving country. He said India had habitually blamed Pakistan for every incident while the country's media was creating hype with irresponsibility.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also said the country's air force was in a state of constant readiness.
In a tweet, the defence minister wrote: “The defenders or our skies, in a state of constant readiness, Alhamdolillah. Our motorways are our runways”.
