Imran says several similarities between PTI and MQM

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said there were several similarities between his party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

The PTI chief said this while speaking to reporters at the Jinnah International Airport.

Imran Khan appreciated MQM Pakistan's decision of announcing their dissociation from the party founder. 

"I welcome MQM Pakistan for distancing themselves from Altaf Hussain. We think it is a positive [step]," he said.

"I was saying for a very long time that MQM should distance itself from militancy and separate itself from its militant wing. And Altaf controlled the militant wing.

"If they separate from all this, a lot of things about MQM resemble PTI. We have no issue with them. This is why we welcome this," said the PTI chairman.
