LAHORE: Pakistan test cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq on Sunday said that Pakistan is ready to play against India, adding that it depends on India whether it wants to play or not.

Misbahul Haq was talking to media in Lahore, where he said that sports should be separated from politics.

“Senior players saying goodbye to cricket in a good manner sends a good message,” said Misbah.

He said that the training process of young aspiring cricketers should continue.

Misbah said that the future of test cricket is in night cricket and the team is preparing itself in this regard.

Misbah-ul-Haq was presented with the ICC Test Championship mace by ICC Chief Executive David Richardson at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday, officially marking Pakistan's number one Test ranking.

Misbah is the first Pakistani captain to be honoured with the Test mace, which is awarded to the world’s best side in Test cricket. Pakistan became the top Test team for the first time since the current rankings system was introduced in 2003 after drawing the series against England 2-2.
