KARACHI: The largest city of Pakistan will be run without a mayor, an official notification said on Monday.

According to the Sindh Local Government Council Act all matters of the city will be taken care of by the deputy mayor Arshad Vohra, the notification said.

The finances of the city  will be run by the commissioner and deputy commissioner.

The city mayor Waseem Akhtar is in prison over multiple charges including involvement in the May 12 massacre and facilitating hate speech of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement founder.
