Senate unanimously passes resolution against MQM founder

ISLAMABAD: After the National and Sindh Assembly, the upperĀ House of ParliamentĀ has now also adopted a resolution against statements by the founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

The resolution, passed unanimously by the Senate, was presented in the House on Monday by Pakistan Muslim League-Q senator Saeed Mandokhel.

The House condemns the MQM founder's words and slogans, read the resolution.

The resolution condemned the MQM founder's incitement to attack a media house and demanded legal action against the MQM founder under Pakistan laws.

Legal action should also be taken against other accused people for violating Pakistani laws while strict action be taken for the attack on the media house and disturbing the law and order situation, said the resolution.

Members of the MQM in the Senate also supported the resolution.

MQM senators also voted in favour of the resolution, which was passed unanimously by the upper House of Parliament.
