WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani met with US special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Richard Olson on Monday and presented evidence of human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Jalil Jilani said he submitted dossier containing evidence of Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir to the US. He also called for the US to take action against the human rights abuse being blatantly conducted by the Indian forces in the valley.

The ambassador pressed on the US to exercise its powers as a Security Council member to put an end to the atrocities and appealed to the world leaders to take notice of the human rights violations.

Jalil Jilani said Kashmiris should be given their right to self-determination.

He further called on the international community to send human rights organisations to occupied Kashmir.
