Student of Rangers' college Syed Atique was gunned down by policemen on Friday night

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Sunday took notice of the incident of police gunning down youth, which it claimed was an encounter.
The CM Sindh asked policemen to keep in view human rights while carrying out operations. He directed Inspector General Sindh Police AD Khawaja to improve the culture of police stations.
A case has been registered against the police personnel on behalf of the youth’s family in Gulshan police station.
However, police and the relatives of the deceased brawled over pressing charges in FIR. Police has left the section empty mentioning charges.
Following which, the relatives of Atique protested outside Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station.
Earlier, preliminary investigation reports suggested that no criminal record of the student killed in an alleged police encounter has been found.
Weapons recovered in the shootout did not belong to the student or his injured cousin, the report added.

Earlier today, two police personnel were taken into custody after a ‘suspicious’ encounter led to the killing of a youth in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal locality on Friday.
The deceased, Syed Atique, was a student of Rangers’ college, according to his cousin. He said that police opened fire after his cousin tried to speed away despite the policemen —identified as Zafar and Bandal — signaled him to stop.
After Inspector General Sindh Police Khawaja took notice of the incident, both policemen were taken into custody.
According to SP Gulshan, both have been shifted to Gulshan police station, saying that interrogation in this regard was underway.
Funeral prayers for Atique were offered at his hometown Quetta today.
On Friday, policemen after killing the motorcyclist had termed the incident as an ‘encounter’. However, later on it was revealed that deceased, Atique, was a student of Rangers’ college.
