ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Saturday suspended membership of 336 legislators over not submitting details of assets.
The ECP issued the notification which stated that the suspended members will not be able to participate in legislative procedures.
The suspended parliamentarians include 22 senators and 66 members of National Assembly.
From the provincial assemblies, 137 members of Punjab assembly were also suspended. 49 members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and 13 members of Balochistan Assembly also faced the suspension.
The notification read that the membership of the lawmakers will remain suspended till they file statement of assets.
The suspended lawmakers include Opposition leader Khursheed Shah of the PPP, Maulana Sherani, Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid, MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and others.
The ruling PML-N's Senator Nehal Hashimi and Talal Chaudhry, MQM's Senator Farogh Naseem and Senator Nasreen Jalil are also among the lawmakers whose membership has been suspended.

The ECP on Friday asked the parliamentarians to submit the details of annual statement of assets and liabilities of their-selves, spouses and dependents for the year 2015-16 by October 15.
