SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has called Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan the biggest “well-wisher” of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, Khursheed Shah said the PTI chief’s faulty policies were actually helping and strengthening the government.

Expressing his reservations at the current state of affairs in the country, the opposition leader said he would not lend his shoulder to the government for support. He however added that the opposition is ready to talk with the government on the four demands put forward by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

“Refusal to talk with the government would negate the principles of democracy,” Khursheed Shah said.

The PPP leader said that his party has given invaluable sacrifices for democracy and is with the poor of the country. The rest are all bluffing about helping the poor, he added.

He further said that the prime minister should present himself before the court over the Panama Papers issue.

Khursheed Shah earlier on Saturday had declared Imran Khan’s plan to lay siege to the capital “unconstitutional”, saying that protest was everyone’s democratic right but laying siege and blocking the capital was an unconstitutional move.

He had added that the PTI chief did not know how to do politics, while the prime minister did not know how to run the government.
