ISLAMABAD: A police woman, whose face was allegedly scratched by a female worker during Thursday's clashes between police and activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Islamabad, has described her side of story.

The police woman narrating her ordeal said that she has been working in Punjab Police for 17 years and was on routine duty on Thursday as well.

She said that during the clash between police and PTI she saw that a woman worker was wielding a big rock, and was targeting a male police officer.

The female cop said she tried to wrest the rock out of her grasp, but was attacked in return.

The Police woman, showing her scratched face, said she was simply doing her duty and that’s how she got dealt with. “If I was being unfair then the same marks would have been on the protesting woman’s face,” she argued.

Lamenting how her act was taken as of violence, she added that she and other female police officers have the same rights as other women.

"Though, we work with the law enforcement, but we too are women like they are."
