ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said on Monday that it was the responsibility of the judiciary to protect democracy in the country.

Speaking to journalists in Bani Gala, Khan alleged that his party workers were being kidnapped and not arrested. “I demand that the Supreme Court take suo moto notice. These are abductions and not arrests. They are robbing people of their democratic rights,” Khan said.

Khan again criticised the Sharif brothers, saying they said one thing and did another. The PTI chief added that Asif Ali Zardari was who he was. “He (Asif Zardari) never did the drama that he would bring stolen money back.”

Imran Khan also told PTI workers to get ready for arrests, adding that they could not be stopped from protesting.  “We will be ready for the police that come today,” Khan said.

The PTI chief said he was ready to be arrested and when released would continue to protest.
