LAHORE: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars’ Jazz Rising Stars team reached Sydney on Monday, where it will play a tri-series against Big Bash franchises Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder.
Lahore Qalandars are the first PSL franchise to play an international series against franchises from other leagues.
Lahore Qalandars chairman Rana Fawad said on the occasion that the best-performing players in the series would be considered for selection in the upcoming second edition of PSL.
“Our young talent from Lahore Qalandars would get a massive confidence boost by playing in Australia,” he added.
The Australia tour is part of Lahore Qalandars' development program, in which the team's selectors picked 15 players after nationwide trials.
The 15 chosen players include: Tabriaz, Saadullah, Rafeh, Ameer, Najid, Sikandar, Saif, Ghulaam, Usman, Yasir, Ehtisham, Ahmed, M. Irfan, M. Umar, and Mudassar.
