Pak Army shoots down Indian spy drone at LoC

RAWALPINDI: Four minors were martyred on Saturday when Indian forces once again resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) at Khuiratta, Bhimber and Chakothi sector near Muzaffarabad, the Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) said.

According to the ISPR, three girls —four-year-old Riba and seven-year-old Faiza and eight-year-old Shazia— and one other minor were martyred during Indian firing at Khuirata sector. The identity of the fourth could not be ascertained. 

Three other civilians were also injured due to the firing. Pakistan Army gave a befitting response to the aggression and targeted Indian posts.

Condemning the incident, Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria sympathised with the bereaved families and also prayed for the recovery of the injured.

Director-General ISPR Lt. Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa on twitter said that Indian quadcopter was shot down at 4:45pm PST by the troops at Aagahi post in Rakhchakri sector.

He said that the quadcopter had intruded 60 metres inside Pakistani territory.

Bajwa said that it fell near Agahi post and was taken into custody by Pakistani troops.

On Sunday, seven Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom after Indian forces carried out unprovoked firing at LoC.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday dared Indian military to tell its casualties, saying that Pakistan Army killed 11 Indian troops in return for its seven martyrs.

During an informal conversation with media in Islamabad, he said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now understood Pakistan’s stance that aggression across LoC was useless.
