Cabinet approves salary increase for parliamentarians

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet on Wednesday.
During the session a pay increase for members of parliament was approved. The salary of Chairman Senate and National Assembly Speaker has been raised to Rs 205,000.
The salary of parliamentarians will also be increased to Rs 200,000.
Meanwhile the cabinet has approved an increase in the salary of state ministers which will now be Rs 180,000.
