ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan said that his party is not in favour of forming a commission over the Panama Leaks case adding that he had put his faith in the bench.

“We feel that the bench hearing the case is qualified,” he said speaking to journalists on Thursday. “The Supreme Court should hold a hearing on daily basis.”

The SC on Wednesday had asked all parties in the Panama Leaks case to decide if they wanted to form a commission or not.

He said that a commission will only be fruitful if the prime minister resigns. “Otherwise Nawaz Sharif will affect the working of the commission,” he said.

He said that when PTI had decided to approach the court over the Panama Leaks case people were skeptical. “Because the public has stopped believing in institutions. This fact was also acknowledged by the Supreme Court.”

He said that, according to him, PTI had already won the case in the Supreme Court. “Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer had said that in the parliament he had given a political statement- which means he lied.”

“Nawaz Sharif has to answer as to why he lied,” he said adding that he will accept whatever verdict the SC gives.
