KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Sunday recovered another cache of weapons from Karachi which were hidden under a washroom of a house in Surjani Town.

According to Rangers sources, the raid was conducted on the information provided by an arrested suspect in which a large number of weapons and ammunition were recovered.

They said that the weapons include a heavy machine gun, five LMGs, four G3 rifles, eight sub-machine guns, four 8mm rifles, five shotguns, six pistols and 5500 bullets.

They further said that the arrested suspect had told Rangers that he is a worker of a political party while the weapons were concealed a few months back.

The raid was conducted in a house of Surjani Town's Sector 8-B Sector.

This is not the first time when concealed weapons were recovered from a house in Karachi.

In October, police recovered a huge cache of weapons hidden inside a water tank in a house in Azizabad area.

The weapons were taken to the office of DIG West in five trucks. Police said the weapons were seized after receiving information from a criminal in custody.

Police added that the weapons were intended to be used for a terrorist attack in the month of Muharram.

The weapons recovered included Nato weapons, bullet-proof jackets, anti-tank mines, anti-aircraft guns, bazookas, grenades, LMGs, SMGs, rifles and AK-47 assault rifles along with a large quantity of explosives.
