PESHAWAR: A memorial is being held to remember martyrs of the Army Public School today (Friday), two years after the deadly attack.

On December 16, 2014, armed Taliban stormed into the Army Public School, killing 147 school children and teachers, in one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Pakistan's history.

Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa is attending the ceremony, along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Corps Commander Peshawar.

Parents of the martyrs are also attending the ceremony.

Several schools in Peshawar have been closed today in memory of the victims.

The horrific attack led to an operation by security forces against Taliban in the country.
