KARACHI: Former minister for petroleum and Pakistan People’s Party leader Dr Asim Hussain was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases on Sunday.
He was shifted to the ICU for the second time after suffering from severe chest pain, according to hospital sources.
A few days ago, Dr Asim was shifted from the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to the NICVD in Karachi.
He was under treatment in a ward at the Cardiovascular department of the JPMC after his health deteriorated last week.
In October, former minister for petroleum Dr Asim suffered a paralytic attack and was admitted to JPMC. Spokesperson Jinnah Hospital had informed at the time that Dr Asim's health was out of danger.
Dr. Asim is currently under custody on a range of offences including corruption worth Rs.480 billion and terror facilitation case which allege that he provided medical treatment to terrorists at his private hospital.
