KARACHI: The sketches of two suspects, who thought to be allegedly involved in carrying out deadly attack that ripped through CID office in Karachi on Thursday, have been drawn and released to law enforcement agencies, Geo News reported.
The case of attack has been lodged under charges of Anti-Terrorism Act, Explosives Act, Murder and Attempt to Murder Acts of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The case has been registered in Artery Maidan police station, police sources said.
Meanwhile, an investigative body headed by Additional IG CID Saood Mirza has been formed to probe into the deadliest bombing tragedy in the history of Karachi.
Officials said the sketches have been drawn with the help of eyewitnesses who witnessed assailants launching attack on CID building in Civil Lines.
The investigative team comprised of SSP Fayyaz Khan, SSP Raja Umar Khattab and SSP Umer Shahid.
The preliminary investigative report unveiled that over 8 terrorists carried out attack on CID building.
It stated that some assailants opened fire at FC personnel deployed outside building to commence attack. Later, some more terrorists arrived on the crime scene and associated the other terrorists in gunfight with security men.
Subsequently, after the gunfight had lasted for 10 minutes then another suspect detonated explosives-laden truck within the premises of building, causing destruction on massive scale.
Explosives, hundreds of kilograms, were used to carry out blast, investigation officers said.
