6 dead, 27 injured as bus overturns in Karachi

KARACHI: Six people died while 27 others were injured when a bus overturned near Sassi Toll Plaza in Karachi Tuesday morning, said SP Malir Dr Najeeb.

According to rescue officials, the injured people have been shifted to hospital.  

Traffic accidents have become a frequent occurrence in Karachi as major roads of the city are dug up for construction. This has disrupted the daily life of citizens in many ways.  

A few days back students of Federal Urdu University of Arts and Science protested on University Road over the killing of four students of the varsity in recent road accidents.

The students had blocked University Road for traffic and threatened to stay put till their demands were met. They had demanded the under-construction road be completed at the earliest.
