Shafqat Amanat Ali ready for ‘Dama Dam Mast Lahore Qalandars’

SHARJAH: Pakistani singing icon Shafqat Amanat Ali cannot wait to see his favourite team Lahore Qalandars lift the PSL trophy this time around.
Shafqat, who sang the Qalandars’ official anthem "Dama dam mast Qalandar, hum hain Lahore Qalandar" for the second edition of PSL, is proud of the Qalandars’ performance this season.
“I’m excited and proud to see them performing like they have so far. They have kept the surprise element alive, which makes cricket fun to watch,” Shafqat said while speaking exclusively to Geo.TV.
Asked about his favourite players in the Qalandars lineup, the singer said he has become a fan of Jason Roy’s explosive batting.
“Roy is my favourite to watch, and Brendon McCullum of course.”
About his anthem for Lahore Qalandars, Shafqat said it has a very important message for all the cricket lovers out there.
“The anthem is about reviving people’s passion for cricket, it’s about bringing out their hidden energy. Its message is, support cricket!” Shafqat explained.

The Qalandars fan, talking about the impact of PSL, expressed hope that the future seasons of the tournament will be held in Pakistan so that the people of the country can finally look forward to seeing their favourite teams and players in action.
