Amir Khan to fight Manny Pacquiao in April

LONDON: British boxer of Pakistani origin Amir Khan will face 11 times world champion Manny Pacquiao in a highly anticipated face off in the ring on April 23.

The Filipino legend took to Twitter to announce his agreement with the three times world champion Khan. 

This super fight is estimated to be valued at around $100 million. Amir Khan confirmed the news through a tweet.

My team an I have agreed terms with Manny Pacquiao and his team for a super fight #pacquiaokhan #April23rd

"The location of the fight is either UK, USA or UAE," Khan said. "The fight is going to be big. We are both in the top three in the welterweight division. Everybody wants to see this fight."

News of the title fight kills hopes of Pacquiao coming face to face with Australian Jeff Horn in Brisbane.

Negotiations between Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum had been underway with Horn’s handlers, Duco Events, for a fight with Horn at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

In response to a poll conducted by Pacquiao, 48% of his fans voted in favour of Amir Khan. When asked about the possibility of facing the Filipino legend, Khan said:  “I have left it to my team to decide. It’ll be huge if it happens.”
