Police arrest 70 suspects during Peshawar raids

PESHAWAR: Police during raids on Sunday arrested 70 suspects including one fugitive from various areas of the provincial capital.

Police arrested the suspects from the jurisdiction of Khan Razzaq and Taj Abad police stations.

Police took into custody 32 suspects for failing to fill out the data of tenancy.

During the raid, 37 suspects were also arrested. Two pistols, dozens of cartridges, marijuana, and alcohol were also recovered from the suspects’ possession.

Police have registered cases against the suspects under arrest.

Earlier today, police arrested four suspects during a robbery on Sunday.

According to the police, the suspects, who are all Afghan nationals, are a part of a mobile snatching group. Later, the group smuggled the stolen mobile phones to Afghanistan, said SSP Operations Sajid Khan.

As many as 146 mobile phones were also recovered from the suspect’s possession, added SSP Khan.
