Inject liquidity in the system, market experts demand

KARACHI: Market in Pakistan is in need of liquidity but the lack of a system is making it difficult, said CEO Insight Securities Zubair Ghulam Hussain.

Rasool said that banning in-house financing is important in knowing how leverage the market is. But in order to know how leverage market is, a system needs to be in place, which Pakistan lacks. This, according to him, makes it hard for liquidity to make its way back to the system.

A new margin trading product is the need of the hour, Rasool told Geo News.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday fell 188 points to 49,343. At one point, market was up 216 points, hitting 49,839 points.

According to CEO Topline Securities Mohammad Sohail, investors are treading with caution. “Concerns regarding the Panama Papers case dry up volumes and value,” he said.
