Traffic plan for Pakistan Day

RAWALPINDI: To insure foolproof security for Pakistan Day celebrations in Islamabad all arrangements have been finalised.

According to the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Yousaf Ali Shahid, a comprehensive traffic plan has been made for free movement of traffic in the city.

The number of traffic wardens that will be on duty has been enhanced. Shahid added, that traffic from Faizabad to Rawalpindi and Islamabad would remain suspended on March 23rd while traffic plying on Murree road would be diverted to double road and via 9th Avenue to enter Islamabad.

Meanwhile, traffic coming from Koral Chowk will use Khanna Pull service road to enter the capital after passing through Shamsabad via double road and 9th Avenue.

Inspectors, Junior Wardens and Wardens under the supervision of senior officers would perform duties to ensure smooth flow of traffic on these two routes, the CTO added.

Under the traffic plan issued by the city traffic police, Faizabad would be closed and all vehicles moving towards Islamabad would be diverted to Stadium Road.
