‘Honour killing’: Father kills 15-year-old daughter in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A father murdered his 15-year-old daughter in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, in yet another grueling case of ‘honour killing’,

Aijaz, who resides in Golra, had choked his daughter’s, U*, neck on Tuesday and later surrendered himself to the police.

According to Aijaz, his daughter was romantically involved with a boy, Allauddin, who lived in the same area as them. Allauddin and his father, Nabi Gul, belong to Afghanistan and wanted to take U with them back to their native country.

However, U’s parents opposed this and warned her countless times to break all ties with Allauddin. Due to the growing problem, Aijaz claims he also registered a case at Golra police station on March 6, this year.

When police failed to investigate into the matter, Aijaz, who works as a butched, took the law into his own hands and gathered men to beat up Allauddin. After this, Nabi Gul then registered a case against Aijaz, which the police also failed to investigate.

Aijaz claimed that he was agonised and had to put an end to this problem by killing his own daughter. His wife also riterated what he had said and claimed that she too warned her daughter but she didn’t listen to her parents. The phone record of the girl showed that she had made the last 81 calls to Allauddin, revealed the police.

The mother recalled that she was working outside when she heard screams and went inside. Upon entering she saw the incident unfold before her eyes, she added.

The body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for post mortem. The initial post mortem report confirmed that the deceased was choked to death.
