Salahuddin Mehsud appointed as IG KPK

PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the appointment of Salahuddin Mehsud as Inspector General police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) department on Thursday.

Police group's Mehsud was recently promoted to Grade 21.

Mehsud currently serves as the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Special Branch KPK police.

He formerly served in KPK police department's Counter Terrorism unit.

AIG Ali Shah became the de facto police chief after former IG KPK Nasir Durrani retired on March 16.

The establishment division will issue a notification of the Mehsood's appointment as IGP later today.
