ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan spoke about his meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Speaking at the PTI's Billion Tree Tsunami Project at a private hotel on Saturday, Khan said: "I will say one thing about the Army Chief, the good news is that he stands with democracy in Pakistan."

Khan's comment about General Qamar Javed Bajwa came in hours after the two met for the first time since the latter took over command of the Pakistan Army on November 29, 2016.

The PTI chief was speaking at PTI's Billion Tree Tsunami project at a private hotel in Islamabad.

"7 billion rupees have been spent on the [Billion Tree Tsunami] project," Khan said while talking about the effects of global warming on Pakistan.

Earlier on March 31, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) tweeted about a meeting between Khan and Bajwa.

The PTI chief felicitated General Bajwa on his promotion and appointment, according to DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor.

PTI Central Information Secretary Naeem ul Haque said the meeting lasted for an hour, during which national and international issues were discussed.
