The sport of parkour may have originated in Europe, but the youth of Quetta are taking the sport to a whole new level – that also without any formal training.

Based in Quetta, the brave and daring parkour boys hail from a Hazara background. The most intriguing aspect of the tale is that these young men learned the sport after being inspired from parkour videos on social media, practicing it every day.

Sajid, a parkour practitioner, said that he learned the sport by himself and now he is at a level where he can easily overcome any obstacles regarding it.

He said that he is quite watchful of his diet as, for this sport, one needs to be in good shape and should possess a high level of vitality.

The youth expressed hope that, for the promotion of this sport, a club or sports academy would be established. He also said that parkour tournaments would serve the purpose of training and spreading the sport in the country.

The determined youth of Quetta has brought the sport to the province, although it remains to be seen if it would spread throughout the country at the same level.

Parkour is generally considered to be a dangerous sport which involves jumping, climbing, reaching heights and acrobatic moves.
